Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places tidy and to store supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck can be used. The reach truck comes in quite a few models: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This particular version has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This model is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Normally more than one type of reach truck is required in warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and can maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
