Used Nissan Pneumatic Tire Forklift Temecula

What is the Difference between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Amongst the most common questions regarding this type of machinery is knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts. Each and every kind of tire is particularly suited for different needs.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, like vehicle tires. These tires are suitable for indoor usage but they are most useful in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Used mainly for indoor applications, the cushion tires are designed just like a solid industrial tire. The tire would only be effective outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are specially made for steering. Traction tires located on the forklift's rear would simply wear out faster. Therefore, if you do need to work outdoors, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front will be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the distinction between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

When trying to determine the main distinction between the two tire types, it could be somewhat tricky. They both work in the same outdoor conditions such as asphalt, and gravel. The main difference between the two kinds of tires is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means they are strong and you cannot puncture, pop or gouge them. These tires are more expensive compared to air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These kinds of tires are best suited for locations such as scrap yards and lumber yards where there can be lots of sharp objects and debris on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires are able to be punctured accidentally. When this occurs, you can get flat tires from them. Before operating a forklift with air pneumatic tires, check your work space and be sure that the yard is free of sharp metals, nails and scrap debris. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires work great.
